Because the surfaces of both the interior part and the inside surface have been carefully machined to be extra smooth, the action feels amazingly satisfying. If there's one pen that we recommend to new customers, it's the Bolt Action. Isn't plastic supposed to be bad? Normally, yes. We tend to stick with materials like titanium, copper, and bronze because of their toughness and corrosion resistance, just for fun, we ordered some Ultem® 1000 and did a run of Bolt Action pens and Bexar Slipjoint knives. Ultem has high mechanical strength and heat resistance which makes it ideal for harsh environments. The diameter is slightly wider than our normal line but the action is so incredibly smooth we don't think you'll mind.
